Named Clothing - HELMI TRENCH BLOUSE & TUNIC DRESS
ABOUT THE HELMI TRENCH BLOUSE & TUNIC DRESS
The HELMI TRENCH BLOUSE & TUNIC DRESS sewing pattern includes two variations with details you can mix and match!
The straight-cut blouse has elements from the classic trench coat, such as the cape and sleeve straps. The rounded collar and slightly curved hem with slits add a touch of soft femininity.
The more streamlined tunic variation is also straight-cut and has a simple stand-up collar, half sleeves, and a curved hem.
Both variations have a discreet and elegant hidden button placket.
FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS
Choose a light weight or medium weight non-stretch shirting/woven fabric.
Your fabric can be drapey, such as our viscoses (EcoVeroTM, Rayon etc), in a twill or crepe weave. Or chose a fabric that is a bit sturdier, such as our linens or linen blends, or something in between such, as our light cottons or cotton-silk blends.
Our cotton and cotton-silk blends are especially suited for the beginner seamstress to the seamstress with intermediate experience, and for everyone who is just in the love with this easy-to-handle fabric with it’s natural feel and down-to-earth esthetics.
Note, If your fabric is coarse, choose a light and slippery lining fabric to line the cape with.
BUTTONS + SEWING THREAD
Choose small shirting buttons for a hidden button placket or matching buttons for a standard button placket + sewing thread from our selection
FACTS
