The first ‘New Morning I’ design was created for the nani IRO 2021 - 20th Anniversary collection. New colour versions and new fabrics have been added in 2022 and 2023. The fabric is made in Japan, and the ‘New Morning I’ design is an absolute favorite of ours.
The ‘New Morning I’ pattern is based on a hand-painted watercolour art piece created by artist Naomi Ito and features blooming flowers. Naomi Ito often draws her inspiration from the natural elements that surrounds us, and in this way her art reminds us of the calmness and the poetic beauty of our everyday environment.
This fine cotton-silk blend is a satin-weave with a luxurious soft touch and drape, and it has a shiny-matte surface like nacre (‘perlemor’). The fabric is easy to handle and perfect for the beginner seamstress who is not yet ready to work with viscose but still long for creating a garment with fluidity and drape.
The delicate, yet sturdy cotton-silk blend has a perfect fluidity for dresses, blouses, shirts, skirts, and scarfs where you aim for a soft drape. The fabric is equally beautiful and suitable for children’s clothes, for cosmetics -, and toilet bags, and for home decor like cushions, patchwork blankets, and much more you’ll love to create.

Wash at 30 degrees Celcius on a delicate cycle, with a low spin setting, using non bio detergent. There is around 2-5% shrinkage with the first wash.
