The BOX PLEAT DRESS with its charming A-line shape, deep box pleat at back, and gently exaggerated sleeve is equally suited for parties and every-day use.

The BOX PLEAT DRESS slips over the head and has wide sleeves that can be rolled up if you prefer, slit at sides, and practical in-seam pockets.

You can also hack the pattern and make a sleeveless version (hack) and/or shorten it to a tunic (hack).

FABRIC CHOICE

Make the BOX PLEAT DRESS in fabrics that are mid weight with a bit of crispness to it, such as most cottons and linens, to enhance the A-shaped design. We recommend our beautiful and unique fabrics like our velvet fabrics from Atelier Brunette, denim fabric from Merchant & Mills for a strong or relaxed modern feel, cotton weaves from Lebenskleidung for a classic statement dress, or double gauze cottons from nani IRO for a femine look.

Use crisp fabric with a bit of shine for a glamourous sixties feel such as our nani IRO Birds eye sateen weave in 100% cotton.

For a closer-to-the-body design with a feminine movement to it, use a softer fabric such as our nani IRO cotton/silk blend or linen 185 from Merchant & Mills.
